About this Webinar
Internal Combustion Vehicles are the dominant form of transportation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. With nearly 740,000 vehicles on the streets of Bahrain as of 2020, of which nearly 575,000 are for private use, there appears to be no end to private vehicles being utilized as the dominant means of transportation. The usage of ICE vehicles for private transport is associated with multiple inefficiencies in the economy in terms of pollution, energy usage, and land usage. The question is, can electric vehicles mitigate some of these inefficiencies associated with using private ICE vehicles?
This webinar is an online presentation on a study conducted on the effects of Electric car adoption and how they impact energy and emission outcomes in the Kingdom of Bahrain. First, we will look at a high-level overview of our model, the outcomes, what happens when we introduce renewables and how they affect the results. We then will look at the fundamental and technical limitations and potential alternatives for electric vehicles in the Kingdom.
