Why are we ADOPTING THE SDGs?
BRG has decided to adopt the SDG goals to focus on specific research goals that will help align towards one of the most important international initatives to achieve peace and prosperity for people and planet. Adopting the SDGs also further allows us to focus and tailor our research to a well-rounded and defined research goals. Utlimately, the SDGs will allow us to tackle modern issues and research in the relevant fields that are practiced by our experts.
HOW WILL BRG USE THE SDGS?
The way which BRG will use the SDGs is that an author will look at the 17 SDGs and determine which broad category they wish to tackle. From there, the author will look at the target of that category they wish to tackle, and form a question around (whether for articles, white-papers, or research papers that we publish). For example, let’s take SDG number 13, Climate Action. Within Climate Action, the indicators that the researcher chooses would be number 13.1, strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries. From there, the researcher will form a research question such as: Can increasing vegetation coverage decrease potential related deaths from climate change? From there, the author will research as per the quality standards we place on BRG research (i.e emphasizing on empirics to drive analysis) to write their content.
At the beginning of each published piece of content, the content will state which SDG does the content contribute towards.
